Bako National Park

Bako was first gazetted in 1957 which makes it Sarawak’s oldest National Park. It’s location and ease of access makes it a very popular place to visit.

About Bako National Park

This protected peninsula is home to the endemic Proboscis Monkey, Silvered Langurs, the Green Pit Viper, Colugos and an array of colourful birds. It also has a resident giant Bearded Pig hanging out around the park headquarters.

It has an extensive trail system made up of 16 colour coded paths which pass through a variety of vegetation and form 7 different eco-systems. Most of the paths will lead you to one of the many beaches.

What Our Adventurers Think:

Me and a friend used Adventure Alternative Borneo and they did an awesome job. Nick organized a great itinerary for us going to a remote longhouse outside Kuching and visiting the Mulu national park to visit some caves and jungle tours. Nick made it a very easy (non stressful) process and was very helpful in answering all the questions we had. They do a great job at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend using them if you visit Borneo.
